Information about the 5K Race:

When |
April 21, 2007 - Registration begins at 1:00pm, Race starts at 2:00pm

Where |
Registration and race Start at the OSU South Oval, and the race will end at the City of Columbus’s Earth Day celebration at Goodale Park. Transportation will be provided by a biodiesel-powered CABS bus to shuttle participants back to campus from 4:00-6:00pm.

How Much |
Before April 21st, 2007: $15 per participant or $10 per team member (A team consists of 6 or more participants)
Day of registration: $20 per participant
**The first 250 participants will receive an official Morris K. Udall E3 5K T-shirt made out of recycled plastic.**

Awards |
Prizes will be awarded to: Top Overall Male, Female, and Team Winners. All prizes will be environmental themed in nature, with an alternative transportation bend. After the race, all participants will enjoy a buffet of bagels, fruit, cookies, donuts, and beverages. Participants are also encouraged to stay and enjoy the Earth Day celebration, including listening to various political figures at 3:00pm (in Goodale). The 5K winners will be announced following these speeches (approximately 3:45pm). Additionally, at the celebration there will be bands, food, and a multitude of good information that promotes ways to lead an environmentally responsible life.

Why |
This year the Morris K. Udall Foundation will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a national biodiesel bus tour and a variety of programs sponsored by friends and alumni of the Foundation. As part of this anniversary celebration, the 5K race honors the legacy of Congressman Morris K. Udall. The 5K focuses on three important topics in today’s environmental community as coined by Udall– energy, environment, and economics. Directions |
The South Oval is located on the corner of College Road and 12th Avenue just off High Street in Columbus, Ohio. Free parking will be available at the Ohio Union Parking garage located at 1780 College Road. The race will finish next to Goodale Park, at the corner of Buttles Avenue and Park Street.

The Morris K. Udall Foundation was established in 1992 by the US Congress to honor the 30 year legacy of legendary legislator Morris K. Udall. “Mo” Udall was an avid champion of environmental issues around the nation. The Foundation furthers this sentiment through programs, internships, and scholarships. Through these activities the Udall Foundation identifies critical environmental issues and provides educational outreach.
